Every year the 1st Monday of November is celebrated as Baptist Women’s World Day of Prayer.
Women around the world are encouraged to plan services that reflect upon the importance of prayer and to intercede on behalf of others.
It is a time to celebrate the unity we share as believers in Jesus Christ and to seek a deeper relationship with Christ.
It is also a time to contribute to our Annual Prayer Offering. This offering is used to assist with continental and worldwide ministries involving women around the world and leadership development training.
The 2016 Baptist Women’s World Day of Prayer program continues with the five-year series of studies based on the theme “Arise, Shine” and is based on scriptural ‘light’. Jesus said, “I am the light of the world” and he also said, “You are the light of the world – like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden.” We can be this light as we reflect Jesus’ light to those around us in our communities and so shine for Jesus.
“Arise, Shine… When we rise up He shines through community.” Together we explore how we can arise to meet the needs of our communities and how we can shine the love of Christ into the hearts of those around us.
