There are many organizations, both secular and religious, which provide programmes for local Chinese-speaking women, but very few which serve the Ethnic minorities in Hong Kong.
MS Latika Paul, Founder of ABWF
Asian Baptist Women’s Fellowship, HK was born with the vision to serve English speaking Asian women who live in HK either short or long term; who may or may not speak the local language.
This was the vision of founder, Ms Latika Paul, who was touched by the ministry of Asian Baptist Women’s Union – an organization working with women from over 20 different Asian Countries. When she saw so many women from all walks of life coming together and supporting each other, she pictured that one day, this could happen in the land where she lived too.
Therefore in the year 2000, she started this ministry in Hong Kong, with likeminded women and support from Asian Baptist Women’s Union and named it Asian Baptist Women’s Fellowship, HK. (Also known as ABWF) In 2012, ABWF has been officially granted with charitable status in Hong Kong.
